With the kids going back to school, it's starting to feel like summer is coming to a close. But not here in Aspen, CO! With a diverse lineup of summer events still to come this August, it's clear summer in Aspen isn't over yet. Take a look at the exciting event lineup, continuing through Labor Day in Aspen.
For the next three weeks, the Aspen Music Festival and School continues to delight visitors and locals alike. Look forward to dozens of concerts yet to come, with performances by the Aspen Philharmonic Orchestra, violinist Sarah Chang, the Aspen Chamber Symphony and more!
Also on the calendar through September 2nd, is the weekly Bluegrass Sundays on Aspen Mountain. This breathtaking mountaintop venue is perfect for leisurely picnicking while enjoying some of the region's best bluegrass bands. Take in a free show as you enjoy scenic views of the Elk Mountains, food and drinks from the Sundeck and plenty of fun for the kids too!

The summer music season winds down here in Aspen with the annual Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience, August 31-September 2. Lionel Richie and Michael Franti are set to kick off the event on August 31st, which culminates on September 2 with the Zac Brown Band.
On Wednesday evenings the Snowmass Rodeo continues with 2 more action-filled dates in August. Get their early to to entertain the kids with pre-rodeo diversions including a petting zoo, roping lessons and mechanical bull rides starting at 5pm. Vendors selling Western wares and BBQ wilI help keep you busy before the rodeo begins at 7pm. Sign the kids up to participate in Mutton Bustin’ or the Calf Scramble when you arrive then stick around after the show for marshmallows around the fire.
August 22-26, Mountainfilm makes returns to Aspen's Wheeler Opera House, featuring nonfiction stories about cultural, environmental, recreational, political and social justice issues that matter. The festival brings together world-class athletes and exceptional documentaries in a celebration of the indomitable spirit.
Don't miss the 46th Annual Mother Lode Volleyball Tournament, a favorite in Aspen, CO, August 29 through September 3. The annual event has grown to become one of the premier grassroots volleyball tournaments in the country, drawing both amateur and professional players from all over North America.
