Aspen Art Museum Roaring Fork Open

Since its founding in 1979, the Aspen Art Museum has provided a place for people to gather, reflect, and respond to art, and to communicate with artists and each other. The Roaring Fork Open is a longstanding tradition that highlights the AAM’s ongoing investment in sustaining a vibrant local, national, and international arts community. The RFO is open to artists residing between Aspen and Glenwood Springs, and over the past 33 years, countless artists have presented their work at the AAM. This year, 125 Roaring Fork Valley artists will participate in the museum-wide exhibition, with each work selected by the individual artist in consultation with our special guest curator. With the completion of the new Aspen Art Museum facility slated for 2014, this will be the last year the RFO will be held in the AAM’s original facility.

This exhibition is organized by the Aspen Art Museum. General exhibition support is provided by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. Exhibition lectures are presented as part of the Questrom Lecture Series.
